Glide at Battersea Power Station opens on Friday 6 November 2026 and runs to Sunday 3 January 2027. Tickets are on sale now. The operator states the dates plainly in its own help centre: “Glide at Battersea Power Station is open from Friday Nov 6th 2026 to Sunday Jan 3rd 2027”, updated on 2 September. Ticketmaster, an official partner, lists the same window.

That is nine weeks of skating, and unlike the fireworks a few hundred metres up the river, every detail below is already confirmed by the operator rather than carried over from last year.

What you are actually booking

  • A session lasts about 45 minutes. Skate hire is included in the ticket price, and bringing your own figure or hockey skates does not reduce it.
  • Three interconnecting rinks plus a riverside skate trail, which the operator introduced last season and has confirmed is back for 2026, with a 30ft Christmas tree at the centre.
  • No skating lessons. The operator says so directly.
  • You can watch for free. Entry to the Glass House bar viewing platform costs nothing and needs no skating ticket, with seats inside and out on a first-come basis.

Glide does not publish a flat price list on its website. Prices vary by session and are shown at the point of booking, so we are not quoting a headline figure here. The extras it does publish are firm: a penguin skate aid is £6, first-come from the skate hire counter and only for children under 1m tall while wearing skates, and the cloakroom is £2 for small items and £4 for larger ones, with no bags allowed on the ice.

Children, families and students

A child ticket covers ages 3 to 12, and every child in that band must be accompanied by an adult of 18 or over who is skating too, not watching. Under-3s are not allowed on the ice at all. A family ticket is either two adults and two children or one adult and three children.

Student tickets are sold at the box office and online subject to availability, valid for any session on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday up to and including Thursday 10 December 2026. They include rink entry, skate hire and a free drink, which can be any hot drink, soft drink, house wine or house beer. Bring student ID on the day, and redeem the drink before the Glass House shuts, which is 30 minutes before the rink does.

Accessible skate sessions, all six of them

These sessions run at a lower capacity with reduced music, sound and lighting. The operator has published the full 2026/27 list:

  • Saturday 28 November, 10am
  • Thursday 17 December, 11am
  • Saturday 2 January, 10am

Every other session is wheelchair accessible too.

Extended Skate, if you want longer on the ice

On weekday mornings early in the season the rink runs Extended Skate sessions with no 45-minute cut-off: you stay on until the session ends. That is 2.40pm from 6 to 20 November and 1.40pm from 23 November to 4 December, when the ice is cleared for the next session.

  • 31 December: an additional New Year’s Skate, 11pm to 12.15am

Getting there

The Power Station has its own Zone 1 Northern line station on Battersea Park Road. Battersea Park station is a ten-minute walk from the Chelsea Bridge entrances and Queenstown Road about fifteen. Buses 44, 137 and 452 stop at Battersea Park/Chelsea Gate for the Grosvenor Arch entrance; 156, 344 and 436 stop at Battersea Power Station for the Pump House Lane entrance, then it is roughly ten minutes on foot. Uber Boat services RB1, RB2 and RB6 call at Battersea Power Station Pier, five minutes from the site along the Riverside Walk.

Driving is possible here, unlike most Christmas events in the borough: the Circus West Village car park (SW11 8EZ) is open 24 hours, entered from Battersea Park Road along Pump House Lane. Book ahead

The box office does sell on the day, but the operator is explicit that this is subject to availability and that if a session is sold out online there will be no further tickets at the gate. December weekends are the crunch.
